Although I would not encourage the OP to espect that he might get way with it. Upgrades on Q fares
can occur as they did on two tixs my wife and I flew 2/8 TPA/MIA/MVD and return 2/20 LIM/MIA/TPA.
The day after the initial booking/confimation I called AA told them what had happened and the CSR consulted with her supervisor and told me that they will allow it with no changes required. (perhaps status had something to do with the waver granted

)
