It seems from your comments that BA in Mumbai just don't understand what you're trying to explain to them.

I'd suggest putting everything in writing, in even simpler terms than you have written here (maybe in a time line) explaining what did happen. Then explain what should have happened. Perhaps involve the UK team as well, so the issue is tracked.

A polite but firm letter with the expectation of a resolution date would be fair.
