No, the upgrade certs (we call them PMUs) are restricted to the higher Economy classes (Y,B,M) for international travel, but include lower fare classes for domestic travel though. However, the difference with NW is that you get these when you qualify for Platinum, as opposed to hitting the 100K (or is it 125K) thresholds. Call me a "Mile Whore" if you will, but as a student, I really don't have very many chances (read one in the last 3 years) to fly on Y,B, or M fares. So, unfortunately, that wouldn't get me any further than flying with NWA. I did note that you mentioned the lower domestic fare classes included, but again, currently as a platinum at NW, I don't really have to worry about using certificates for domestic upgrades. In case you were wondering, the 2 missed upgrades reflected in my signature were due to missed connections/last minute schedule changes where I had missed the EUA window for that flight, but NW did give me 1000 miles for each. Does DL offer any similar compensation for Platinums when not upgraded?
