Grosvenor House and Swansea

Hi all! New here, and stumbled across you when Googling Marriott Rewards!

I'm a Platinum member, and used some points to stay at Grosvenor House in January. I thought I'd add a report in case it helps anyone, and also to praise the guys there - absolutely outstanding. ^

My partner and I were on a theatre/weekend trip and decided to use some points to stay at GH. On arrival we were personally greeted by the front of house Manageress, offered complimentary late check out until 3pm, we were given a welcome letter and then personally escorted to our room - on the way being informed we had been upgraded.

She showed us how everything worked and wished us a happy stay. The room was divine, seprate lounge, a bed so big and comfy my partner looked tiny and he's not a short man, 2 huge plasma screens, robes, mineral water, marble bathroom and divine smelling products.

We had a call from the Concierge inviting us for drinks on Level 7 in the evening, and then we went to The Park Room where we were booked in for Champange Afternoon Tea - my other half had not experienced this before so it was my treat for him!

Fabulous servce, beautiful sandwiches, champers and tea not to mention the cakes and scones!

We had a lovely evening out after stopping in the Executive Lounge first for complimentary glasses of wine (there was plenty on offer from snacks to champagne), then returned to the best nights sleep we've had in a ages.

We had breakfast in the Exec Lounge. Wow. A vast selection of smoked fish, meats and cheeses, a delicious granola and muesli, toghurts, jucies, fruit, cereals, coissants, toast, coffees, teas and smoothies. We left our complimentary paper in our room (it was hanging in the dearest linen bag on the door handle) and read the ones provided up there having a thorughly lazy breakfast.

They even provide cardboard cups and lids for take-away tea and coffee.

After luxurious baths using the lovely aromatherapy products, we checked out at around 2pm to be told there was no charge to our room - the £75 afternoon tea had obviously been removed at their discretion! :-:

We were absolutely impressed and very grateful. They weren't vulgar enough to make this a point, just subtle which was lovely.

I've never stayed anywhere so wonderful with such good staff and lovely atmostphere. I wish we could afford to stay there normally!

All this on a points stay too, wow.

The point of Swansea being mentioned above, is that we're using some more points to stay there this weekend. I was wondering if anyone had any experience (I've searched and not found anything in the last 2 or 3 years!) there, what we might hope to find as Platinum members etc?

Thanks! :-:
