You may have been confused and I do not think that here has been conflicting views.
arpiuk asked a question about a different card hence the thread is outlining two different insurance policies. The travel cover offered with the Platinum charge card is a full blown travel policy that covers all travel. You do not have this cover inless you have paid the £300 annual fee for Plat. I wouldn't rely on the Premium Plus cover as my only travel ocver.
The free cover you have with Amex Premium Plus is much more restricted.
