My question is, what do you consider to be an acceptable percentage given that BA are operating out of LHR.
Delays in departure are meaningless. What I am concerned with is how late I'll arrive at the destination. If there is enough padding to flight times, then a delayed departure need not result in a delay in arrival. Longhaul flights from DEL spring to mind, where 60 mins padding seems to be the norm.

Anyone who suggested LCY to avoid delays: LCY is great because it's compact, easy to get to from the City and the Docklands, and staff have a positive attitude (and then there's the Estonian shoeshine guys ) but there's been lots and lots of delays and cancellations of late, due to weather but also due to saturation (no stands). I just hope things will improve once the new apron is operational.
