I believe you're misunderstanding the issue here. We're not talking about the date selection, but rather what month the calendar window opens up with. So if you pick a date in September for the departure, the calendar for the return should start with the month of September rather than the month of April (the current month) as it does today. This would save having to scroll forward to September. Many travel websites have this feature.
