I'm flying LAX-LIM through MIA, and have a Q fare reserved. I read on AA that South America Flights are not eligible for upgrades on "Q"... but does that include Peru, Ecuador, etc? Peru is only 12,500 miles to upgrade, which is the same as Central America and the Carribean. My assumption is that AA.com is only referring to countries like Brazil or Argentina that cost $300 co-pay + 25,000 miles to upgrade. Can anyone clarify this for me? Thanks a lot.
