I wouldn't be worried about less availability as much as "fuel surcharges." I don't think you have much to worry about in the near future, since if a merger did happen it would likely take months if not close to a year till there's any actual merging of the programs. That being said, I'll never understand people that keep accumulating miles. Earn 'em and burn 'em, baby!
