I've used them often and never had a problem. There's nothing cheezy about them, they're a promotional tool by the restaurants. As mentioned above, keep your eyes out for sales on restaurant.com, you can often pick up $25 certificates for $5 or $6 each. Do a search and make sure there are places you want to eat in the cities you visit.
