Fair enough, but you're assuming said exec is on their way to a meeting, not having just finished some high powered mega bank deal (or a rather nice spot of lunch) in London.

They get to the airport at T-30, can't get through security, do an about turn & go to T2 then move the very expensive fully flexible ticket over to Lufthansa or whatever. Even if they get home at the same time, they probably feel they've made a point!
