At MSP there's usually restaurants near most of WCs. So I could see how they might want to restrict access. As far as SEA goes, leaving WiFi on is the least they could do considering how early they close.
With WIFI service providers charging fees for internet access in airport terminals everywhere, I'm surprised fee based providers haven't been requiring airline lounge operators to password protect the access. Fee based provider need to protect their "intellectual property" and charge those customer who are non-lounge members.
