It depends on the hotel. That's like asking whether companies accept personal cheques or not - it's up to the company.
More often than not, they are honored by the bigger name hotels. Last year, Amerihost New Orleans honored, as did a nice resort in Thailand (IIRC). Los Gatos Lodge and Poughkeepsie Super 8 were denied outright. I doubt you'll have much luck with this one. I had a 2 Euro rate for a three star hotel in Munich, Germany and I was politely asked to go screw myself upon check in. I hope you have better luck with it.
