I just flew the ORD-PVG, and on the outbound flight the AAgent said there were 135 open seats, and that was 30 min before departure, so I think they need the business. I wish I waited an extra week to take the trip and earned another 14k miles . The fares are also really cheap, paid $800ai for a RT, booked 15 hours before departure.
