Admittedly few data points but in 3-4 trips to Asia in the last 6 months i have not been able to get an AA J seat transpacific. So I hope they are charging enough! JL is a good alternate option, once i went on BA (the long way home), and a China Eastern codeshare from LAX was a slightly troubling experience (really empty plane and not a lot of confidence they knew what they were doing.)
