United doesn't really need to. UA dominates the US-China market as they are the only airline to offer an extensive scheduled service between the mainlands.

Remember how everyone was wondering how AA was able to generate about 2c more per mile in revenue than everyone else in Latin America? It's because of market domination. Same goes for UA to China. I doubt UA will even consider matching prices. They have no need to do so.
