I am only familiar with the Toronto-EWR route. Round trip taxes, on practically identical fares for the same days, were $95 on AC and $90 on Porter.

I had always thought that it was so expensive to fly out of YYZ because travelers were financing the new terminal...a factor that i thought would not be relevant for flying into toronto island. it seems though that that is not accurate.

Does anyone know why the taxes are almost equally high at YTZ as at YYZ?
