AC could be involved in an inspection fiasco should at some point, say, an urgent problem crops up in the DH3 or the A320, say.
I suspect, rather, that AC is immune from the US fiasco because by virtue of being Canadian and operating under Canadian rules, it never went through that period of cosy relationship with the FAA. Whereby the FAA looked the other way around on inspections and other supposedly mandatory issues regarding safety.
And BTW, the US should consider themselves very lucky that the thing did not result in any serious accident.
