I live in Italy and fashionable jeans are the look to wear. So, a great pair of Diesel's with a button down white shirt and navy blue blazer with italian leather-soled shoes makes for a comfortable, yet avant-garde look that is sure to catch the eye of male and female airline employees alike... ;-)

My long-flight uniform is a pair of pressed (but not starched) light-weight cotton khaki pants, comfy slip on casual loafers, and a nice looking long sleeve button-up shirt with a handy pocket. I usually wear my navy blazer rather than pack it so it doesn't get wrinkled. I find it a great cross of smart casual and very comfy. I also seek to wear an outfit that looks good but is unremarkable--I see no useful need to draw attention to myself via "flash."
I find jeans to be poor travel wear, and sport outfits are far too "gangsta"/"chav" for my button-downed tastes.
