The cuts USA Today and other media outlets are referring to were announced a few weeks ago. They include the following:
1) Elimination of non-stop flights to FLL, RSW, CMH, and COS. In the case of the first two destinations, loads were actually pretty good but fare levels just weren't cutting it in today's operating environment.
2) Reduced frequency to PIT, SAT, and MCO.
Additionally, seasonal flight additions to SFO and LAX will not return this year.
Earlier this year, Midwest had planned to add flights at MCI, both on mainline and SkyWest regional jets. Industry conditions have deteriorated rapidly in the last few weeks. It just doesn't make sense to be adding new routes right now.
