Just an update: I like the Jawbone's performance--clearest sound quality I've had from a BT headset. However, mine has turned out to be fragile in use--I've had two of the earpieces
break off like an over-flexed paper clip, one in West Texas on a cross-country drive when I really needed it and had no backup. I had to order extras from Aliph, since they were not available locally at any price. Fine, I stocked up on extras and carried one in my briefcase. The second time this happened, I managed to botch the replacement process and snap off the entire round plastic piece that holds the ear loop and the speaker that goes in my ear! (It may just be my lack of a delicate touch--fortunately, I am not a surgeon.) While I contemplate some impromptu repairs with super glue, I am using a Motorola H700, which is adequate but doesn't sound as good.
One thing I did figure out about the Jawbone--while it does require that you use the special cord for charging, the output of the Jawbone charger, if you need to plug into a wall outlet, is the same as that of an iPod charger, though the packaging isn't as sleek. So if you have both, don't carry both chargers, you're wasting space and weight.
So to recap:
