That's a very good price. I paid SG$ 11 in 1999 just to Malacca. My other trios to KUL have been bus to the Larkin terminal via Woodlands crossing and then a bus for 20-25 Ringgits. SG$11 from SIN to KUL is a better option than what I took.
I too prefer the road trip for the landscape, as well as food stops along the way.
