Former IATA Codes of Former Airliners
I hope this is the right place to post.

I am currently putting my old (really old) flight data together and found a few crytic entries in my old diaries of Airline Codes that simply don't make sense. Can you help me?
  1. FL581 - BOS-DTW in October 1981 in a DC-9-50 - According to wikipedia it would be "Air Tran". However, does not make sense, as Air Tran is fairly new. Who else operated a DC-9 at this time and flew this segment with FL as IATA-Code?

Further cases:
  1. RK36 - GDA-CDG in April 1980 in a DC-10. Could be Air Afrique.
  2. UT832 - ABJ-MRS in June 1979 in a DC-8. Most likely Orient-Air, later merged with Air France, but I'm note sure.
  3. RK38 - ABJ-OUA in June 1978 in a DC-10. Air Afrique?
