In my opinion...it would be too inconsistent to tell our Customers to put their bags in wheels-first on some flights and not others since, as it has been mentioned, the -300 and -500 bins are not deep enough.

I am not sure of the exact percentage, but I think the fleet is something like 50/50 between aircraft types (-300 and -500 vs. -700). So half the time, wheels-first won't work.

It might lead to a lot of bags placed in wheels-first that don't really fit on full flights, bins that won't close, bags being rearranged and/or ultimately checked and leading to a potential delay. That scenerio happens today even without flight attendants making a "wheels-first announcement."

Gotta admit...love those -700 bins on full flights!
