The sniping is really unpleasant...
Hello all
here's my take on this thread and threads like this one (where a poster asks a specific question that isn't answered RECENTLY in the ongoing prior thread(s))
As you may know search is not infallible and sometimes it's pretty darn annoying. So I'm not likely to chastise a poster for not using search especially for a specific question like this one.
If someone has a specific question and you can answer it, it'd be great if you could do so.
If it's a more general question but easy to answer please feel free to answer it but also to point the poster to search, such as it is.
If it's a question that has been answered time and time again on the main thread (closest Metro stop to the hotel, etc) - things that are not likely to change - please feel free to skip over the post AND report it as a likely candidate for merge if you see fit. Rest assured Canarsie, the merge guru of FT has an excellent track record for merging threads. I even do so on occasion.
What's really unpleasant is directing a poster who has a VERY specific question, to search - search is NOT great with some parameters and our policy is to give people the benefit of the doubt.
That said - sniping at each other, making snide comments about other posters, etc. is NOT allowed, and can result in disciplinary action by your FT mod team.
As the question has been answered I am closing the thread. Thanks for your cooperation.
