Hampton Inns have a small breakfast area where you serve yourself; Embassy Suites have a much larger breakfast buffet. Hilton Garden Inn and Hilton Suites have a combo of buffet for cold items and cooked-to-order table service for the hot breakfast. All have some choice of hot breakfast protein items, i.e. meat/eggs.

For all properties, it is much more than just "continental" breakfast. And what some of the low budget hotels out there call "breakfast" is pretty pathetic. I admit I have become spoiled by Hilton in that regard. Properties vary wildly from location to location and brand to brand but I have not been too disappointed yet. In fact some are very impressive (I remember the Embassy Suites Denver Tech South as being quite good).

I haven't been to Homewood Suites yet. Also I haven't tried the On The Run™ Hot breakfast bags at Hampton Inn I keep seeing on their website. Kind of curious about those.
