Of course not, that would be stretching it a little. I chose the WBC seat because in a coach seat I would arrive at NRT will little sleep and a painful lower back.

But when I'm paying significantly more than the going coach fares I do expect my power plug to work as long as I comply with the known limitations of the system (wattage, etc)

"The system" knows how much you've flown on NW, how much you've spent on NW, and so on. From that, it can project some amount of future behavior, and make recommendations in terms of how the customer should be handled.

does not know about flights on other carriers that aren't credited to NW - so it doesn't know if you fly 500 segments a year on CO, nor does it care... nor
should it.
So in your particular case, the system said "okay, well, this guy's loyalty is clearly with CO, and he has no status with us. We don't stand to gain much by being extra-super-nice to him - he'll keep flying CO. But we'll throw him a bone."
LOL, I like your spin on it... the black box. Actually though my status is on CO, I've logged far more segments in the past year on NW than CO, that's just where I park my miles. So in the black box scheme, it should say... hey this guy is a CO elite that for some reason spends a lot of time over here, lets hook him up...

Actually in the black box theory they know I'll be back even with the issues experienced.
