Booking an award stay as a gift is easily done. If you personally are not part of the reservation, you have to give MR a call however as it cannot be done online.
In the past for family and friends I've made the reservation online and just called the hotel to let them know it would not be me checking in. No problems with that.
I didn't think of calling MR to make the reservation in their name only....I'll probably do that from now on just to avoid the risk of a problem.
