Sea-Tac Airport is a strange, complicated place set up to serve a transitory class of people: travelers, whose only wish upon arriving is to get in and get out, and maybe grab a bite to eat on the way.
Built around that service are thousands of jobs.
A small fraction of those jobs -- the ones with medical benefits -- belongs to the airport's overseers at the Port of Seattle, whose airy office spaces occupy the tower just west of the hanging airplanes at the south end of baggage claim.
