A 7.16pm train from KIX would get you to JR Hiroshima Station by 10.01pm.

7.16pm Haruka from KIX, followed by 8.29pm Nozomi from Shin Osaka.
If you use a JR pass, you'd probably take the 8.59 Hikari from Shin Osaka. (Reaches Hiroshima at 10.34).

From Hiroshima station to the ANA hotel with luggage, I'd get a cab. Trams would still be running, but they aren't roomy...

Alternatively, take the train as far as Osaka (or take a ferry to Kobe - where you could find an IC hotel by the Shinkansen station). Enjoy dinner in Osaka or Kobe and get an early train to Hiroshima next day. That might be more civilized.

Regarding the JR pass. With a KIX-Hiroshima-Kyoto-Tokyo-Narita itinerary you probably won't save much money. I'd be inclined to buy tickets separately for the added convenience of using Nozomi trains.

(But if you're incllined to make stops and detours in lots of places, then it might be cheaper to get the pass).
