Which can be abused pretty easily. You can get a reader/writer (USB on your laptop) and some cards pretty cheaply... A lot of access control and public transport systems have already proven to be pretty vulnerable to those type of "attacks". A more sophisticated card usually is just a tad bit more expensive, but when dealing with thousands of cards it can add up...
