Hi,

On BA.com you can now select when booking your fare if you want to book outbound only, inbound only or both.

( assuming you are booking a WT+Ticket and MFU to club) when you buy your return WT+ ticket you can select to upgrade the outbound lfight only. Then when the inbound flight beocomes available, contact BAEC to upgrade the return.

If the return flight upgrade is available on a different day to your booked flight, it might be possible to change your WT+ ticket ( chnge fee + difference in fare)

Booking one way WT+ tickets is likely to turn out to be expensive.
