Was checking a UA fare SYD to Uruguay for next month and one of the fare rules said:

VOLUNTARY REROUTING PERMITTED

What does that mean?

Involuntary I can understand but VOLUNTARY? Like if I choose to route via Seattle ex SFO or LAX is that OK as a voluntary re-route??

As it is, it is pretty flexible re stopover/transfers.

* TRANSFERS: THREE TRANSFERS PERMIITED IN EACH
DIRECTION AT LAX/SFO/ORD/MIA
AND ONE IN EACH DIRECTION IN SYD/MEL
OR AKL.

TWO ONLINE STOPOVERS PERMITTED


Agent told me that you can fly ORD-SDF-ORD etc and count Louisville as a "stopover".
