I prefer an HGI complimentary-for-Gold+ buffet-plus-hot breakfast to either of the above, based on what I've seen in lounges. But, yes, Hampton is still in front of most lounges.

My favorite thing to hear when I'm staying at a Hilton over a weekend is "sorry, our lounge is closed this weekend, so you're getting a restaurant breakfast coupon instead". But since I can't count on that, I'll only pick the Hilton if it's better location or better total price than one of the lounge-less HHonors brands.
