And I have said it before... Air Europa (and AM, to a lesser extent) do not count for US-EU travel, as it isn't practical to go via the Caribbean or Mexico. Aeroflot is likewise out, as it isn't really practical to go via Moscow to get to most of Europe. OK has one flight, so not much help - and a J award on OK is an absolute waste of miles. AZ stinks, won't be around much longer, and has awful availability.
So, in reality, there are 5 practical carriers for US to EU travel (AF, KL, NW, DL, and CO). That is still a lot of carriers, but let us not be disingenuous and try to claim the other 5. And let us also be honest about how tight all of the ST carriers are with award seats compared to somebody like AA or BA.
I can usually find something, but it is not easy and I rarely have much more than a single choice of routings.
