I got my refunds within a few weeks of filing, but I don't think you can count on that. You could ask a tax professional the likelihood of getting your refund within a month v. 2 months v. longer.
I think any competent accountant would tell a client that they are wasting potential earned interest overpaying taxes to earn miles. Mine was disappointed enough that I paid the fee to pay with a CC. If he didn't give this kind of advice, I'd think he's a bad accountant. Perhaps chasing the miles isn't the wisest thing from a financial perspective. But it's fun and we all have our hobbies.
