At 6' 5" I'm normally not keen on the person in front of me reclining their seat but this should be a matter of common sense. You don't recline the seat after takeoff for a good reason (namely that the plane is still climbing at quite an angle).

Sorry to sound accusing but if this happened 5 seconds after takeoff and you immediately pressed the call button how come the flight attendant came so quickly? Unless someone is dying they (the FA's) also won't move until the seatbelt sign goes out.

Anyway: I think the member of cabin crew took the 'don't care, don't get involved' approach which was wrong. So easily it could have been 'could you straighten your seat please, we're still climbing / until the seatbelt sign is turned off'.

Both the woman ahead of you and the member of the cabin crew should have known better.
