MHL - I lived and worked in Mexico for 5 years and can tell you that this woman is not that unusual. As she was flying, she likely considered herself one of the elite and, as such, felt as though she could do whatever she darn well pleased. Manners and etiquette are virtual unknowns in Mexico. Before I get flamed by a bunch of Mexicans or others on this board, let me say that, no, not all Mexicans are rude and act with a sense of entitlement, but you know as well as I do that there is a significant sector of the society that feels as though they can act with impunity. That's what happens in a nation that is not guided by the rule of law. Just my 2 cents.
