I thought that after take off you were supposed to remain seated in the upright position until the captain dictates otherwise (usually by switching off the seatbelt sign).

If someone was deliberately bashing the seat into my legs I would have complained as well. This is just plain rude and unacceptable.

I also have no issue with complaining with anything that might compromise my safety. I am glad to hear that there are others like me!
