Wow, quite a change. Rates have been priced in US dollars since before I stayed there on my first visit to Thailand, back in 2001. (Back then the rate was $135++ for two including breakfast!) Rates have steadily gone up since then, more than US inflation. They baht they realize, though, has undoubtedly fallen, with the exchange rate going from over 45:1 to under 32:1 now. Still, somewhat surprising.
Are other 5* hotels in Bangkok making a similar change? Have they already?
All of the FS hotels and resorts in Thailand have also recently switched from pricing in USD to pricing in Baht (and have built a nice little price increase into that change as well).
