Nor did AFA refuse to allow them to fly as UA flight attendants unless they were AFA. Instead, AFA agreed to sell them out.
UA paid them much less and AFA obtained an agreement that they would be fired first--regardless of seniority date--before any AFA flight attendants were laid off.
AFA should have told UA when all this started that all flight attendants systemwide have to be AFA. Period. UA would have had no choice. But AFA didn't. AFA traded the foreign BKK and SIN domiciles for a carrot elsewhere. So much for seniority and loyalty.
