I didn't hear it. I'm speculating. The only evidence I have is mention of such a benefit in an exploratory opinion survey about possible RR changes. Although I'd bet strongly against several other items in that survey ever seeing the light of day, priority line access for elites make sense to me. It might be as simple as free membership in Clear or as complex as contracting with every major airport for priority lines. Other airlines offer this to their elite members, and it wins business.
I used the Clear line at OAK Monday and cleared security in 4 minutes, saving between 15 and 20 minutes in line. Repeat this 45 times a year and it adds up. The TSA at OAK staffs just enough lanes to keep the peak-hour line at 20 minutes or so. Outside the summer months, they have several unstaffed lanes even at peak hours. It's not as if we needed another reason to dislike the TSA...
