Air tickets sold in Peru attract a very high sales tax (I think 19% but not sure).

If you manage the get an ex-Peru ticket sold and issued in Canada this warning possibly does not apply, but I'd still be very concerned about it, right up to departure time. Consider, for example, that ex-Peru tickets purchased on aa.com are subject to this tax, even though they are sold in the US.
