As a Platinum card holder, you will automatically be enrolled in the Membership Rewards First program. I am not sure if your current MR points will transfer into the MR First program as I have only had a platinum card and never a gold one. I would assume that they would not transfer to the new program however you may want to contact Amex to find out for sure or perhaps someone on the forum will know for sure. Enjoy your new Platinum card.
