That is not the end of the world and take the 1000 and the breakfast. The first thing you need to say to yourself, manage your expectations. Example, if the hotel room was $1000.00 a night on my honeymoon and we wanted to take a bath or shower then heck ya I would be PO'd. If I am on business or the room is fairly cheap then I say to myself, oh well, there is nothing I can do it about. Sure ask for more points, free drink, some bottled water but stop the whining. Take it up with Marriott Rewards/Customer Care and let them have it. Show them you are a repeat loyal customer and they need to earn your business.

Personally a hotel chain has 3 strikes a year for me. After that I move on to another chain until the next year. Example of order for 2007 was Marriott, Hyatt, SPG, Hilton. I tell customer service exactly this, show them I stay about 150 nights a year and that's that. Move on and find a new hotel chain, but be warned, it could happen anywhere for any price. Set your own standards. Be your own boss.
