Ala UA style, starting July 1st LY is to scrap automatic KD membership for Gold and Platinum members.
While obviously Business and first class will still allow you in to the lounge, if you’re traveling Economy, no more automatic entry.
You will have to buy KD membership in order to do so.
Gold and Platinum members will pay the reduced fee of 50% compared to a full paying KD member, but at the same time LY are going to increase the price of a full KD membership to $500 a year, so 50% is still $250.

Gold and Platinum will still be allowed to use the business class check in, and will still benefit from last minute upgrades, but will not be allowed to use the lounge unless a paying KD member or traveling Business or First.
This will be valid in all ELAL lounges around the world including TLV.
KD lunges, and third party.

I know from someone at LY that they are thinking about way to compensate their premium Matmid members in someway because of this change.
I also understood that they are fully aware this is not going to be a popular decision.
