Advice for FB award rules

Hello all,

I need an advice about a award I have booked recently between CDG and the US. The routing is as follows :
- way out in Tempo (I am booked in W on AF, N on DL for the connecting) : CDG-NYC-xxx (in the US) on AF metal + DL metal
- return in Affaires (I am booked in E) : NYC-CDG on AF metal

All is then booked under standard award rules (not "open miles"), reserved for Elites (W+E).

FB gave me the 6 digit booking code and the reservation is displayed as "confirmed" in Amadeus.

The ticket has however not been issued : the guy over the phone told me it would take some days because it involves a Delta flight.

Some days have passed and I have called FB to enquire about that and they now tell me : "We cannot issue the ticket because it involves a Delta intinerary. Therefore, you have to travel in Tempo on the return in order we can issue the ticket. My colleague made a mistake".

I said :
1/ the reservation is confirmed : please issue the ticket
2/ you made the mistake, you deal with the consequences

I also asked a written confirmation that they made a mistake and of course they said they do not care.

Now what to do? Who is right, them or me? Did they really make a mistake? Do they have to issue the ticket or do I have to travel in Tempo on the return?

Thank you for your help.
