I may very well use BA in the coming months simply because they are cheaper and the product in the air is quite good, but I would never check bags on BA! And I probably wouldn't fly BA if I absolutely had to be somewhere on time.
The real problem isn't to do with BA or T5 or what-have-you. The problem is that LHR has an unreasonably high runway utilisation, which transforms the smallest disruption into unmitigated havoc. Of course, knowing that, anyone who expects good reliability from BA, particularly the short-haul flights, at LHR is deluded.
