I agree with the book suggestion

If you must go sightseeing, you can probably rent a car for a day on PL for $15-20 plus fees. Still not much to see...Riverwalk downtown, shopping and restaurants near Southside and JT Butler. You could make it to Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach but you would be very rushed.
