it probably is competition - but are the number of nights needed the same for silver(10) -gold (50) -plat(75)? and I would bet you do remain silver with the card, even if it did not say it....

also - I am plat, and have been for several years. I can count on one hand and have fingers left (weel, maybe one finger) the number of times I have been upgraded to a suite.....and from what I read between the lines here on FT, most people who do get them on a consistent basis do ask. (suites just aren't that important to me -)

if it makes you feel any better, I think CY is the worst promotionally - a big promo there is a free breakfast!
